A Heightened Role for a Prestigious Association
Since 2009 CN has served as the executive management arm of the Research & Development Council of New Jersey. Over 50 years old, the Council engaged CN to improve the organization’s brand, expand its membership and enhance its public image throughout the state. To meet these goals, CN focused on strengthening Board engagement, scaling the Council’s annual awards and honors, and expanding its portfolio of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) education programs.
All this reflected a new, proactive strategy. CN designed a new Board meeting format, developed moving tribute films and expanded media outreach, including for the Council’s annual Edison Patent Awards. Under CN’s leadership, the Council connects community college students excelling in STEM with major industry research laboratories and professionals in the field. More recently, CN launched the Governor’s STEM Scholars, a public-private partnership that recruits promising students in grades 10 through college and provides them with a yearlong introduction to New Jersey’s STEM economy – with the goal of strengthening New Jersey’s talent pipeline.
